Organic Weed Control ServiceWeed growth in your yard can be a difficult issue to control while your lawn is being transitioned to completely organic. Weeds are no different than any other plant that grows in your yard, other than the fact that they are undesired. As your lawn is properly aerated, watered, seeded, and organically fertilized, it will begin growing thicker and more consistently. As this transition is taking place, BR Green has Organic Weed Control solutions to minimize weed growth by targeting common weeds that affect landscapes.

Organic Weed Prevention

Prevention of weed growth, rather than controlling weed growth, is generally the best treatment. Weed prevention begins with healthy soil that supports lush turf growth that suffocates any foreign plants in that area. When your lawn is growing deep roots, weeds are prevented from sprouting because the competition is too great. Improper lawn care and poor soil contribute to weed growth and must be corrected for long-term weed control.

Organic Pre-Emergent Herbicide

BR Green uses a corn gluten herbicide that is completely organic and is Earth, Pet, and People friendly. For best results, this is applied yearly in March in order to prevent common weeds and unwanted pre-emergent grasses such as crabgrass. When applied correctly, weed growth will be minimized through the spring and summer months, but spot treatment and hand weeding might be necessary for your yard.

Organic Broadleaf Weed Control

Our broadleaf weed control treatment is a broad spectrum, foliar herbicide that is intended for actively growing weeds that have already emerged during the spring and summer months. Like all of our products, it is completely organic and safe for your family and pets. It controls both annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and grassy weeds, but is non-selective to what it kills. Applying this treatment may cause some grass to brown, but it will quickly grow back within a week or two. Once applied, the broadleaf weeds will show leaf damage within hours of application. Our weed treatment product is most effective during warmer weather.
